Polyteistisenä is a Finnish term used to describe a belief system that acknowledges multiple deities or divine beings. In polytheistic beliefs, the gods and goddesses are often viewed as having distinct personalities, roles, and powers. This concept is in contrast to monotheistic beliefs, where a single all-powerful deity is worshipped.

In Finnish mythology, the word polyteistinenä is often used to describe the traditional beliefs of the ancient Finnish people. These beliefs were complex and multifaceted, with a wide array of gods and goddesses associated with various aspects of life, including nature, war, fertility, and death.

The polytheistic beliefs of ancient Finland were characterized by a strong connection to the natural world. The gods and goddesses were often associated with specific animals, plants, and geographical features, and were believed to embody certain qualities and attributes. The most well-known of these deities include Ukko, the god of thunder and lightning; Tapio, the god of the forest and hunting; and Mielikki, the goddess of the forest and fertility.

Many Finns continue to celebrate traditional festivals and holidays, such as Juhannus (Midsummer), which have their roots in ancient polytheistic practices.
