Poddaszu is the locative form of the Polish noun poddasze, referring to the attic or top-floor area of a building. The attic lies directly under the roof and above the main living floors. In Polish usage, poddaszu is used after prepositions to indicate location, as in w poddaszu (“in the attic”).

Attics vary widely by building type and era. Traditionally, they were primarily storage spaces with limited headroom and simple access.
