In a piramideoverview, the apex represents the top-level category, and subsequent levels reveal deeper subcategories as the pyramid widens.

Construction and interpretation: The diagram is built from layers corresponding to levels of the hierarchy. Each layer is partitioned into segments for the categories at that level. The size, angle, or area of a segment encodes a quantitative measure, such as totals or averages, while color or texture can encode another attribute. Subsegments nest under their parent segments as you move down the pyramid. The result is a compact, hierarchical summary that supports quick visual comparison across categories and levels.
