phosphirene
Phosphirene is a class of hypothetical organophosphorus compounds containing a three-membered ring with one phosphorus atom and two carbon atoms. The general formula for phosphirenes is C2PH. This ring system is analogous to the well-known class of alkenes called cyclopropenes, where the phosphorus atom replaces one of the carbon atoms in a cyclopropene ring. Due to the strain inherent in such a small ring and the P-C bond, phosphirenes are generally considered to be highly reactive and unstable.
The theoretical study of phosphirenes has been a subject of interest in computational chemistry. These studies
