peinasteis

Peinasteis is the second-person plural form of the Spanish verb peinar in the pretérito perfecto simple (the simple past). It expresses a completed action in the past and is used with the subject vosotros/vosotras, primarily in Spain. In most of Latin America, the corresponding preterite for ustedes/ellos is peinaron, so peinasteis is less common outside Peninsular Spanish.

When used reflectively, the form appears with the reflexive pronoun os: os peinasteis. For example, Ayer os peinasteis para la fiesta means you all combed your hair yesterday for the party. The verb can also appear non-reflexively as peinasteis in contexts without the reflexive pronoun, though in practice the reflexive usage is typical with peinarse.

Conjugation notes: the verb peinar belongs to the regular -ar class. The vosotros form in the preterite is peinasteis, while related forms include: yo peiné, tú peinaste, él/ella/usted peinó, nosotros peinamos, vosotros peinasteis, ellos/ellas/ustedes peinaron. The infinitive is peinar, and the reflexive form is peinarse.
