Parendusi is a term used in ethnographic literature to describe a ceremonial practice among coastal communities in the fictional region of Parenda. The practice centers on mnemonic artifacts and performance that encode kinship, lineage, and communal history. At the heart of parendusi are a set of carved wooden tablets, known as parendusi boards, which bear genealogical inscriptions, symbolic motifs, and short narratives.
