Pakiramdam is a Filipino term that denotes perception, sensation, or a sense of feeling. It covers both physical sensations (such as heat, cold, or pain) and non-physical impressions (such as moods, atmospheres, or intuitive hunches). The word comes from the root ramdam, meaning to feel, with the prefix pa- forming a noun that expresses the act or condition of feeling, as well as a subjective sense or intuition.

In everyday use, pakiramdam often conveys a subjective judgment rather than objective analysis. Common expressions include pakiramdam ko, meaning “I feel that…” or “my sense is that…,” and sentences like “Pakiramdam ko gutom na ako” (I feel hungry now) or “May pakiramdam akong may mali” (I have a sense that something is wrong). It can also describe the vibe or atmosphere of a place, as in statements about a mood or tone that one perceives emotionally rather than factually.

Pakiramdam is frequently contrasted with more formal or objective reasoning; it highlights personal perception and instinct. It is broadly used in casual conversation and is widely understood across Filipino-speaking communities.
