Orientacional is an adjective used in Spanish and Portuguese to refer to anything related to orientation—the state or process of determining, describing, or aligning the position of an object, axis, or system with respect to a reference frame. In scientific contexts it often denotes properties or measurements that depend on the direction of molecular or structural alignment.

In physics and chemistry, orientational concepts are central to the study of anisotropic matter. The orientational distribution function describes the probability that a molecule adopts a given orientation on the unit sphere. The orientational order parameter, such as the Maier–Saupe Q parameter in liquid crystals, quantifies the degree of alignment of anisometric molecules.
