Opatrovnictví is a legal concept in Czech law that refers to the guardianship and care provided to individuals who are unable to manage their own affairs due to age, mental incapacity, or other legal reasons. It is a form of legal representation designed to protect the rights and interests of vulnerable individuals.

There are two main types of opatrovnictví: statutory guardianship and court-appointed guardianship. The specific responsibilities of a guardian are determined by the court based on the individual needs of the opatrovanec.

Opatrovnictví is overseen by the guardianship authority, which ensures that guardians are fulfilling their duties responsibly. The primary goal of opatrovnictví is to provide a legal framework for the protection and support of those who are unable to fully care for themselves.
