Ominaisvastus, often represented by the Greek letter rho ($\rho$), is a fundamental property of a material that quantifies its resistance to electrical current flow. It is an intrinsic characteristic, meaning it depends solely on the material itself and not on the shape or size of the object made from that material. This is in contrast to resistance, which is dependent on both the material and the geometry of the conductor.
The unit of resistivity in the International System of Units (SI) is the ohm-meter ($\Omega \cdot \text{m}$).
Resistivity is temperature-dependent. For most conductors, resistivity increases with increasing temperature. For semiconductors, the relationship can
