Oksidatoriske is an adjective used in Norwegian scientific language to describe phenomena governed by oxidation, the loss of electrons in a chemical reaction. The term applies across disciplines, from chemistry to biology and environmental science, and is formed from oksidasjon (oxidation) with the suffix -atorisk to indicate relation to the concept.

In chemistry, oksidatoriske processes involve transfer of electrons to an oxidant, raising the oxidation state of the donor while the oxidant is reduced. They are characterized by redox potentials and depend on factors such as temperature, catalysts, and solvent. Common examples include combustion, corrosion, and many organic oxidations, including aerobic oxidation where molecular oxygen acts as the oxidant.

In biology, oxidation is central to energy metabolism, notably oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria.
