Observatøa is an astronomical observatory and science education center that serves as a regional hub for research, outreach, and citizen science. Located on a gentle rise overlooking a coastal town in a Nordic country, Observatøa was founded in 2002 by a partnership of universities, local government, and community organizations with the aim of expanding access to astronomy and supporting regional science literacy. The name combines the Norwegian word for observatory with an emphasis on openness.
