ObjetQuery, developed by Objet Corporation, is an SQL database for relational, transactional, and object-oriented applications. It was designed to address the shortcomings of traditional relational databases (RDBMS) in handling complex data models and concurrent access.

ObjetQuery combines traditional SQL capabilities with object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques, supporting complex object models and inheritance. It is notable for its ability to handle complex data hierarchies, scalability, and concurrent transactions. This was achieved through the use of OODBMS (Object-Oriented Database Management System) architecture.

One of Ob jetQuery's unique features is the ability to handle object identity separately from data storage location. This allows for intended concurrent modifications and caching without causing system lockups or seeing temporary data in incorrect contexts. Furthermore, it features real-time redundancy with page-oriented allocation, concurrent, cache-safe methods and availability features.

ObjetQuery was initially used by several major organizations in the 1990s, but suffered from issues such as high license costs, support difficulties, and the prevalence of commercial relational databases.

Several groups continued to maintain and expand on its original technology and structure. Furthermore, examples and documentation remain available today, offering practical insights into advanced database development techniques and schema design principles.
