Näkökenttänä is a Finnish term that translates to "field of vision" or "visual field" in English. It refers to the entire area that can be seen at any given moment without moving the eyes. This encompasses everything visible directly in front, to the sides, above, and below the central point of gaze.

The visual field is not uniform. The sharpest and most detailed vision occurs in the fovea, the central part of the retina. As one moves away from the fovea towards the periphery of the visual field, visual acuity and color perception decrease.
