NSTAR was the brand name used for a major American electric and natural gas utility serving parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including the Boston metropolitan area. The NSTAR Electric distribution company and NSTAR Gas distribution company operated as regulated utilities delivering electricity and natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The NSTAR brand existed under the umbrella of Northeast Utilities for much of its later history, and staff and customers commonly identified the services as NSTAR Electric and NSTAR Gas.

The origins of NSTAR lie in the consolidation of several local electric and gas utilities in New England, with roots tracing back to early 20th-century energy providers in the Boston area. During its corporate existence, NSTAR focused on maintaining the distribution network, conducting outage response, processing customer bills, and offering energy efficiency programs and customer services. The company operated under state and federal regulations that govern utility rates, reliability standards, and safety.

In the mid-2010s, Northeast Utilities merged with Integrys Energy Group to form a new parent company, Eversource Energy. Following this merger, the NSTAR brand was retired, and the former NSTAR Electric and NSTAR Gas operations were rebranded under the Eversource name. Today, the former NSTAR service territories are served by Eversource Energy, with the legacy brand effectively discontinued in favor of the broader corporate identity.
