Nozzleverstopping is a mechanical safety feature used in fluid- and spray-control systems to limit nozzle travel and prevent unintended actuation by engaging a lever-based stop. The term is a portmanteau of nozzle, lever, and stopping.

The mechanism typically consists of a lever arm connected to the nozzle actuator, a fixed or adjustable stop, and, in some designs, a latching or damped engagement. As the nozzle reaches a prescribed position, the lever engages the stop, halting movement and enabling repeatable positioning. Depending on design, the stop may be spring-loaded, hydraulically actuated, or pneumatically controlled, and may include sensors to confirm engagement.

Applications include industrial spray systems, paint or coating lines, precision dispensing, and robotic end-effectors where reliable nozzle positioning is important. It can be used to prevent over-travel, misalignment, or accidental retraction of the nozzle.
