nouka

Nouka is a Bengali word meaning boat. It is used in Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal, and more broadly in Bengali-speaking communities in parts of eastern India and neighboring countries. The term is cognate with nāva, nāvā in Sanskrit and other Indo-Aryan languages, and is often transliterated as nauka.
