Nonvaluable is an adjective used to describe something that has little or no value according to a specific standard or context. It signals that the item, information, or entity is not worth the effort, cost, or risk associated with it. The term is less common in everyday speech than valueless, worthless, or insignificant, and it is often replaced by phrases such as not valuable or of no value depending on precision needed.

In economics and business, nonvaluable can describe assets or data that fail to generate cash flow, recovery of costs, or strategic benefit. It may apply to inventory that cannot be sold at a profit, to information that does not support decision-making, or to projects lacking expected return. Such items may be discarded, recycled, or reclassified as non-core.

In other fields, such as archiving, museums, or data governance, nonvaluable items may be flagged for deletion or minimal maintenance; or conversely, what is deemed nonvaluable today might gain value later due to changing standards or information needs.

Because value is context-dependent and subjective, the label nonvaluable can be controversial if used imprecisely. It should be applied with clear criteria and, where possible, accompanied by an explanation of the valuation framework.
