Nontranscendent describes something that does not go beyond or surpass a particular limit or boundary. It suggests a quality of being confined or contained within a specific scope, rather than exceeding it. In philosophical or theological contexts, the opposite of transcendent is often used. A transcendent entity or concept is understood to exist outside of or beyond the material world and normal human experience. Therefore, something nontranscendent would exist within that material world and be subject to its limitations and natural laws.
