nitrilebutadiene
Nitrile butadiene rubber, often abbreviated as NBR, is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene. The properties of NBR depend on the acrylonitrile content, which can range from 18% to 50%. Higher acrylonitrile content leads to improved resistance to oils, fuels, and chemicals, but can reduce flexibility at low temperatures. NBR is known for its excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils, greases, and a wide range of solvents. It also offers good abrasion resistance, tear strength, and tensile strength.
NBR finds extensive use in industries where resistance to oils and fuels is critical. Common applications include
