Nietprolactinomen, also known as non-functioning pituitary adenomas, are a type of tumor that originates in the pituitary gland. Blood tests are used to assess pituitary hormone levels and check for deficiencies. Treatment options depend on the size of the tumor, the presence of symptoms, and the extent of hormone deficiencies. Surgical removal of the tumor is often the primary treatment, especially for larger tumors or those causing significant visual impairment. Radiation therapy may be considered if surgery is not possible or if there is residual tumor. Hormone replacement therapy is often necessary to manage any hormone deficiencies caused by the tumor or its treatment.
