nerede

Nerede is a Turkish interrogative adverb meaning "where." It is used to ask about location, the place of existence, or the place where an event will take place. As a question word, nerede typically appears at the beginning or within a sentence to introduce a location query.

In Turkish grammar, nerede is formed by combining the interrogative base ner- with the locative suffix -de, yielding a word that asks about location. It is one of several place-related question words, alongside nereye (to where), nereden (from where), and neresi (which place). Nerede can also function in shortened or contracted spoken forms such as nerdesin, meaning “where are you?”

Nerede is commonly used with verbs of existence or movement, or with noun phrases representing a location. Examples include:

Notes:

- Neredeyse, ne ile ilgili “nered” is a different word and not a form of nerede.

- Neredesin? is a common contraction meaning “Where are you?”
