Neologismem is the instrumental singular form of the noun neologismus (neologism) in Czech and related Slavic languages. In linguistic writing, neologismem is not treated as a separate concept; it is simply the grammatical form used when referring to a neologism within a sentence. For example, a Czech sentence might say that a word has become neologismem.

A neologism is a newly coined word or expression that enters a language and gains use. Neologisms arise through coinage, semantic extension, calques, or borrowing from other languages, and they can belong to different word classes. Their acceptance depends on factors such as frequency, breadth of use, and inclusion in dictionaries or standard usage. Distinctions are often made between nonce words (coinages created for a single occasion) and terms that become established as neologisms.

Linguists study neologisms in fields such as lexicography, corpus linguistics, and sociolinguistics. Methods include tracking usage in large text corpora, dating the emergence of terms, and analyzing semantic shifts to assess novelty and diffusion.
