Mõõtmisülesanne, also known as a measurement problem, is a fundamental concept in quantum mechanics that arises from the attempt to measure the properties of quantum systems. Unlike classical systems, where the state of a system can be precisely determined, quantum systems exhibit probabilistic behavior. This means that the outcome of a measurement on a quantum system is not deterministic but rather described by a probability distribution.

The measurement problem can be illustrated through the thought experiment of Schrödinger's cat, which is simultaneously in a state of being both alive and dead until observed. This paradox highlights the counterintuitive nature of quantum mechanics, where the act of measurement seems to collapse a system's wave function into a definite state.

Several interpretations of quantum mechanics have been proposed to address the measurement problem, including the Copenhagen interpretation, many-worlds interpretation, and decoherence theory. The Copenhagen interpretation suggests that the wave function collapses upon measurement, while the many-worlds interpretation posits that all possible outcomes of a measurement are realized in some "branch" of the universe. Decoherence theory, on the other hand, explains the apparent collapse of the wave function as a result of the interaction between the quantum system and its environment.

Despite ongoing debates and research, the measurement problem remains one of the most intriguing and challenging aspects of quantum mechanics. It continues to be a subject of active study and exploration in both theoretical and experimental physics.
