Märgumisele refers to the Estonian folk magic and sorcery with which a person is said to be under a spell. The term is derived from the Estonian words "märk", meaning mark or sign, and "umema", indicating a surrounding or enveloping quality. According to traditional beliefs in Estonian folklore, a person can be placed under a spell by an evil spirit or sorcerer, often as a result of anger, revenge, or a lack of respect.

The spells can supposedly cause various physical and psychological afflictions, including illness, mental behavior, and social degradation. Those under a spell are often seen as being changed for the worse, becoming stubborn, argumentative, or even violent. Curing a person of the spell is said to require knowledge of counter-magic, specific rituals, and sometimes the use of blessed objects such as holy water or amulets.

Lifting the spell is believed to involve a process of gradually dissipating the "märkmene" or spell-infused energy, focusing on lightening the ways that were controlled and putting people insane or indecent to good and decent. Supporters of mythological mysteries believe that magic actions are passed through kindling with divine intensification that decentifies being, represented in contrary tasks visible and understandable.
