Muzieknotaties, often referred to as musical notation, is a system of writing down music. It allows composers to record their ideas and performers to reproduce them. The most common form of Western music notation uses a staff, a set of five horizontal lines and four spaces. Notes are placed on these lines and spaces, with their vertical position indicating their pitch. The higher the note, the higher its pitch.
