Muuuwith is a cross-platform framework and platform designed to enable collaborative creation and sharing of short-form multimedia content. It supports remixing, annotations, and real-time collaboration across devices, with an emphasis on user consent, privacy, and portable data formats. The name combines the onomatopoeic 'muu' with the word 'with,' signaling its core concept of collaborative authorship.

Originally developed by the Muu Collective, an international group of artists and developers, the project began as an experimental prototype in 2018 and released a stable SDK and client in 2020. It has since evolved through community-driven updates, with major releases adding CRDT-based conflict resolution, end-to-end encryption options, and offline editing.

At its core, muus are content objects that can contain text, audio, images, and video. The technical architecture relies on a modular set of components: a CRDT-based data model for optimistic, conflict-free merging of edits; WebRTC for real-time collaboration; and a permissions layer that governs remixing and distribution. Client libraries exist for web, iOS, and Android, while a lightweight server component handles indexing and publishing metadata.

Users create muus within a project, invite collaborators, and apply licenses and attribution. Remixes preserve authorship history; annotations can be attached to specific moments; projects can be exported in portable formats or embedded via embeddable widgets.
