morfologiaan
Morfologiaan refers to the study of form and structure, most often encountered in two domains: linguistic morphology and biological morphology. In Finnish and several other languages, morfologiaan denotes the field of morphology or the act of studying morphology. The term thus spans both word-formation and organismal form.
In linguistics, morphology analyzes the internal structure of words, including morphemes, affixes, roots, and stem changes.
In biology, morphology studies the external form and internal structure of organisms, from bones and muscles
Morphology as a discipline has roots in antiquity, with later formalization in 19th-century biology and 19th–20th-century
