Usage and care guidelines emphasize covering both nose and mouth, avoiding touching the mask while worn, replacing disposable masks regularly, and cleaning reusable cloth masks according to manufacturer instructions. Masks are most effective when combined with other measures such as ventilation and physical distancing.
