Moduulaation is a term used in some theoretical discussions and speculative contexts to describe a hypothetical process of encoding information by modulating a signal across multiple dimensions or layers. It is not a standard term in mainstream engineering, and in many references it appears as a neologism or a misspelling of modulation rather than as a distinct concept.

In concept, moduulaation envisions applying modulation techniques to different attributes of a carrier in parallel or in a hierarchical fashion. This could involve modulating time-domain amplitude, frequency-domain phase, polarization, or spatial channels in a coordinated way to create a composite signal. The idea is to distribute information across multiple channels or state variables, potentially increasing data density or enhancing resilience to noise and interference in a way that conventional single-domain modulation does not.

Common hypothetical variants include parallel moduulaation, where several modulation channels operate concurrently on separate attributes, and hierarchical or adaptive moduulaation, where data are encoded across layers with different priorities or under changing conditions.
