mleczn

Mleczn is a village and civil parish in the Northshire District of Noravia, within Alderidge County. It sits along the Kinder River, about 18 kilometers north of the county town. The name Mleczn derives from an old Noravian word meaning milk, reflecting a long history of dairy farming in the area.

The surrounding countryside is mostly farmland with scattered hedges and small ponds. The area has a temperate climate with moderate summers and cold winters.

The settlement is first mentioned in 14th-century documents. It grew around dairy and arable farming, with a small rail spur built in the 19th century to connect local producers to larger markets; the line closed in the mid-20th century.

The population is roughly 320, with a predominantly Noravian-speaking community. The village has an aging demographic and modest in-migration of younger families.

Agriculture remains the main activity, particularly dairy and crop production. A village shop, a bastion cooperative, and several home-based crafts supplement farm income.

The parish church of St. Nicholas, dating from the 17th century, stands at the village center, along with a restored windmill and the nearby Mleczn Pond Nature Reserve.

An annual Dairy Heritage Festival celebrates rural life with exhibitions, tastings, and local music.

Mleczn is governed by a three-member parish council within the Alderidge municipal framework and is part of the Noravian national constituency.
