Mesopiska is a term used in vision science to describe mesopic vision, the intermediate lighting level at which both rod and cone photoreceptors contribute to image formation. The word derives from Greek meso- meaning middle and opsis meaning sight. In practice, mesopiska refers to the perceptual conditions that occur between bright daylight (photopic vision) and very low light (scotopic vision).

In mesopic conditions, the rod and cone pathways are simultaneously active. Rods provide high sensitivity in dim light, while cones contribute to residual color and finer spatial detail. Consequently, color discrimination is reduced compared with daylight, and visual acuity is lower than in photopic vision.
