mediaanvertraging
Mediaanvertraging refers to the median delay experienced in a system. It is a statistical measure used to describe the typical delay, representing the middle value in a set of delay measurements when those measurements are arranged in ascending order. Unlike the average delay, which can be skewed by a few very long delays, the median is less sensitive to outliers. This makes it a useful metric for understanding the performance of systems where occasional extreme delays might not be representative of the usual user experience. For example, in network performance, the median delay provides a good indication of how quickly a typical data packet will travel from source to destination. A low median delay suggests a responsive system, while a high median delay indicates that users are likely to experience noticeable lag. It is often used in conjunction with other performance metrics to provide a comprehensive view of system behavior.
