Manganoksidasjon refers to the chemical process where manganese atoms lose electrons, increasing their oxidation state. Manganese is a transition metal known for its ability to exist in multiple oxidation states, with +2, +3, +4, +6, and +7 being the most common. The process of manganoksidasjon typically involves an oxidizing agent that facilitates the transfer of electrons from manganese. For instance, atmospheric oxygen can oxidize lower oxidation states of manganese to higher ones, especially in aqueous solutions under certain pH conditions.
