Madalle, also known as "Maddale" or "Dholak," is a percussion instrument primarily used in the traditional music of South India, particularly in Karnataka and Kerala. It is a double-headed drum, typically made from wood, with a cylindrical or slightly barrel-shaped body. Both ends of the drum are covered with animal hide, usually goat or cow skin, and secured with leather straps.
