Maaeluga is a fictional island in the southern archipelago of Nyris, used here as a stand-alone geographic and cultural reference. It lies about 120 kilometers southeast of the mainland coast and covers roughly 14 square kilometers. The island is of volcanic origin, with a central plateau, steep basalt cliffs, and a surrounding fringing reef.

The name Maaeluga derives from the archipelago’s indigenous language, meaning "watcher of the sea," reflecting its maritime associations in local folklore.
