These herbivores are skilled climbers, possessing hooves with a hard outer edge and a soft, adhesive inner pad that allows them to navigate steep and treacherous slopes with remarkable ease. Their diet consists primarily of grasses, herbs, leaves, and twigs found in their alpine habitats. Mägikitsed are social animals, often living in herds, though the composition of these herds can vary seasonally and by species.
