Lümfoidkuded refer to specialized tissues within the lymphatic system that are crucial for the body's immune defense. These tissues are composed of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, along with other immune cells and supporting structures. The primary function of lümfoidkuded is to initiate and regulate the immune response against pathogens and other foreign substances.

There are two main types of lümfoidkuded: primary and secondary. Primary lymphoid organs, such as the bone marrow and thymus, are where lymphocytes are produced and mature. In the bone marrow, all blood cells, including lymphocytes, originate from hematopoietic stem cells. Immature B lymphocytes also mature within the bone marrow, developing the ability to recognize specific antigens. T lymphocytes, on the other hand, migrate to the thymus to mature and become functional.

Secondary lymphoid organs, including lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, and Peyer's patches in the small intestine, are where mature lymphocytes encounter antigens and initiate an immune response. Lymph nodes filter lymph fluid, trapping foreign particles and presenting them to lymphocytes. The spleen filters blood, removing old red blood cells and housing lymphocytes and macrophages to combat blood-borne infections. Tonsils and Peyer's patches are strategically located at entry points of pathogens, providing an initial line of defense. The organization and function of these interconnected tissues are vital for maintaining immune surveillance and protecting the body from disease.
