Légkondicionálók, commonly referred to as air conditioners or AC units, are devices designed to cool and often dehumidify the air in a specific space. They operate by removing heat and moisture from the indoor air and transferring it to the outdoor environment. The process typically involves a refrigerant that circulates through a closed loop system, changing its state from liquid to gas and back again. In the indoor unit, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the surrounding air, causing it to cool. This cooled air is then circulated back into the room. Simultaneously, the moisture in the air condenses on the cold evaporator coils and is drained away, thus dehumidifying the space. The heated refrigerant then travels to the outdoor unit, where it releases the absorbed heat to the outside air, usually with the help of a fan.
There are several types of air conditioning systems. Window units are self-contained devices installed in a
