The hides are then delimed, which involves removing the excess lime and other chemicals, and then they are washed to remove any remaining impurities. The hides are then passed through a series of rollers to remove excess water and flatten them out, a process called fleshing. The resulting hide is then cut into thin pieces, or hides, which are then tanned.

Tanning is the process of converting the raw hide into leather by preserving it with tanning agents. This can involve the use of chemical tannins, plant extracts, or synthetic agents. The type of tanning agent used depends on the type of leather being produced. After tanning, the leather is dyed, finished, and treated with various chemicals to achieve the desired texture and appearance.
