Luftmiljöarbete is a Swedish term for systematic work to improve and protect the air environment in buildings and surrounding areas, as part of the broader concept of systematiskt arbetsmiljöarbete (systematic work environment management). It addresses indoor air quality in workplaces and, where relevant, outdoor air that affects occupants. The goal is healthy, comfortable environments with reduced exposure to pollutants and dampness.

Key elements include risk assessment and planning, monitoring of air quality indicators (such as CO2 as a proxy for ventilation, PM2.5/PM10, VOCs, and humidity) and implementing measures for source control, ventilation optimization, filtration, and maintenance. Practical actions include choosing low-emission materials, ensuring moisture control to prevent mold, and maintaining ventilation systems.

Implementation involves the employer, safety representatives, and occupational health services where available, in accordance with Swedish legislation and guidance from Arbetsmiljöverket (the Swedish Work Environment Authority). The approach emphasizes documentation, continuous improvement, training, and clear communication of responsibilities.
