loppuselvitys

Loppuselvitys is the Finnish term for the final settlement or closing report submitted at the end of a project or funding period. It documents how the project was completed and how funds were used, and it is used to assess compliance and finalize funding.

It is common in Finnish public funding, EU-supported projects, research grants, and municipal development programs to ensure accountability, transparency, and measurable outcomes.

Typical contents include a summary of objectives and activities, a description of results and deliverables, a detailed accounting of actual expenditures versus the budget, documentation of income and subcontracting, any deviations from the plan, and supporting materials such as receipts, audit statements, performance indicators and evaluation notes.

Submission is usually the responsibility of the project manager or coordinator and is made to the funding authority by a defined deadline. The authority reviews the report, may request clarifications, and often requires an audit; final payment is released upon approval.

Depending on the funder, loppuselvitys may be called a final report or final accounting; the exact requirements are set in the grant agreement and guidelines.
