Locativinen is a term used in linguistics to describe a class of markers and constructions that encode locative relations—where something is located, where it is directed toward, or the relationship between entities in space. The label is typically used in descriptive grammars and typological surveys to group similar devices across languages rather than to describe a single, specific language.

The locativinen category can be realized in several formal ways. It may appear as a suffix on a noun that marks a locative case, as a postposition following the noun phrase, or as a separate directional particle accompanying a verb or noun phrase. The semantic scope includes static location (in, at, on), directional movement (into, toward), containment, and surface or contact relations (on top of). Morphologically, locativinen markers often display attachment to the noun with possible phonological or morphophonological adjustments, and may interact with other grammatical layers such as case, agreement, or demonstratives.

Typologically, locativinen systems are contrasted with other spatial encodings such as purely prepositional systems or more extensive case inventories.
