In more recent times, linseed oil has gained popularity as a dietary supplement. It is rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid. ALA is considered an essential fatty acid, meaning the body cannot produce it and must obtain it from the diet. It is thought to offer various health benefits, although scientific research is ongoing. It is important to note that raw linseed oil intended for industrial use is not suitable for consumption.
