Linan, known in Chinese as Lin'an (临安), is a district of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, China. It lies in the western part of the Hangzhou metropolitan area and features a varied landscape of mountains, forests, and rivers. Historically, Lin'an was the capital city of the Southern Song Dynasty from 1127 to 1279, and this legacy is reflected in local temples and historic sites.
