Linan, known in Chinese as Lin'an (临安), is a district of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, China. It lies in the western part of the Hangzhou metropolitan area and features a varied landscape of mountains, forests, and rivers. Historically, Lin'an was the capital city of the Southern Song Dynasty from 1127 to 1279, and this legacy is reflected in local temples and historic sites.

Administrative status has changed: it was a county-level city before being merged into Hangzhou as Lin'an District in 2021. The district borders several Hangzhou districts and encompasses parts of the Tianmu Mountain area, a notable scenic and ecological region.

Economy and development are diversified, with agriculture, light manufacturing, and growing tourism driven by its proximity to Hangzhou and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
