Ligandiyhdisteeseen is a Finnish term used in chemistry to denote a ligand compound—the chemical species capable of donating electron density to a central metal atom or ion to form a coordination complex. The concept is central to coordination chemistry and is used when discussing how ligands interact with metals in solution or solid-state systems.

Ligand compounds are defined by donor atoms, denticity, and electronic and steric properties. Donor atoms commonly include nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, and phosphorus.
