Levélmozgások refers to the various movements exhibited by plant leaves. These movements are typically responses to external stimuli such as light, touch, temperature, or water availability, and can also be influenced by internal biological clocks.

One common type is photonasty, which is a light-induced movement where leaves may orient themselves towards or away from a light source to optimize photosynthesis or prevent damage. Thigmonasty, triggered by touch or mechanical stimulation, is observed in plants like the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica), where leaves rapidly fold upon contact. Nyctinasty, also known as sleep movements, involves leaves folding or drooping at night and opening during the day, often in response to circadian rhythms.

Other levélmozgások include nutations, which are slow, often spiraling movements of plant parts, including leaves, as they grow. Tropisms, such as phototropism (growth towards light) and gravitropism (response to gravity), can also indirectly affect leaf orientation. Hydronastic movements are related to water availability, with leaves potentially wilting or changing their turgor pressure in response to drought conditions. These diverse movements play crucial roles in plant survival, resource acquisition, and protection.
