Levyiä is a Finnish term that translates to "records" or "discs" in English. It most commonly refers to vinyl records, the analog sound storage medium that was popular for music consumption from the mid-20th century until the rise of digital formats. Vinyl records are circular discs made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), typically 12 inches, 10 inches, or 7 inches in diameter. Music is encoded as a groove that spirals across the surface of the disc.
