Lesrooster is the term used in Dutch-speaking educational contexts for the timetable of lessons for a school, class, or course. It specifies when and where each subject takes place, which teacher leads it, and which student group attends. The primary purpose is to organize the day-to-day teaching activities, allocate rooms and staff, and inform students and staff about upcoming classes, breaks, and exams.

A typical lesrooster lists days of the week, time slots, subject codes, class groups, and rooms. Times vary but many schools use blocks ranging from 45 to 90 minutes. The timetable may include school-wide events and lunch breaks, as well as periods designated for tutor time or study.

Creation and maintenance: produced by school administrators or timetabling software, considering constraints like teacher availability, room capacity, curriculum requirements, and student course choices. Conflicts must be resolved: two classes cannot use the same room, a teacher cannot teach two groups simultaneously, etc. Changes may occur due to substitutions, holidays, or room maintenance, and are usually communicated to students through the school portal or notice boards.

Formats: can be published as a paper copy, on a school's website, or in digital student information systems. Many schools provide individual class timetables for students and separate overviews for teachers. Substitution roosters may be issued when regular lessons are replaced by other teachers.

Terminology and scope: while a lesrooster often refers to a school-wide timetable, some contexts distinguish between a general school timetable and a specific class timetable. The concept exists in the Netherlands and Flanders and can vary by institution, but the core idea is consistent: to schedule teaching activities in a structured, transparent way.
