Lastausrampit, commonly referred to in English as loading ramps, are inclined surfaces that bridge a height difference between ground, a vehicle bed, or a loading dock to facilitate the loading and unloading of goods, pallets, and wheeled equipment. They can be portable or fixed and are used in warehouses, retail distribution, construction sites, and agricultural settings.

Types include portable ramps (usually aluminum or steel, lightweight, foldable or telescoping), dock ramps (heavy-duty, permanently installed at a dock), and vehicle ramps (for trucks, trailers, or shipping containers). Some models incorporate hydraulic or motor-assisted mechanisms to aid with heavier loads.

Construction and features vary by use. Common materials are aluminum for lightness and corrosion resistance, and steel for greater durability. Surfaces may be ribbed or chequered to improve traction; many ramps have a pronounced top lip, anti-slip surfaces, and optional edge guards or securing brackets. Folding or telescoping designs save storage space and increase portability.

Performance is defined by load capacity, length, and slope. Capacities range from a few hundred kilograms for light-duty applications to several tons for industrial use. The length and the ramp angle determine suitability for a given height difference, and manufacturers publish load ratings and recommended usage guidelines.

Safety and maintenance require attention to surface condition, securing mechanisms, and correct placement on level ground. Operators should not exceed rated loads, use wheel chocks, inspect for cracks, deformation or corrosion, and store ramps properly when not in use.
